On July 28, 2021, the SBA?launched a streamlined application portal to allow borrowers with Paycheck Protection Program loans of $150,000 or less through participating lenders to apply for forgiveness directly through the SBA.

The federal government has exceeded its small business federal contracting goal, awarding more than $145 billion in federal contract dollars to small businesses, a $13 billion increase from the previous fiscal year.?

On July 28, 2021, the SBA?announced $300,000 for up to two new grant opportunities for established and aspiring Women?s Business Center host organizations. When funded, the WBC?s will provide business services for women entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico.

On July 27, 2021, the SBA announced that the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program?has awarded over $7.5 billion in total funding to *more than 10,000 live venues [ [link removed] ]* and related businesses across America and U.S. territories.

The SVOG portal remains open and funding is still available for all eligible applicants. However, do not wait. Submit your application as soon as possible.

New, Lower Costs on Marketplace Health Insurance Plans

You may be eligible for more savings and lower costs on health coverage through the Health
Insurance Marketplace due to the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

What?s new:


* More people than ever before qualify for tax credits that lower the cost of health?coverage, even those who weren?t eligible in the past.
* Most people currently enrolled in a Marketplace plan will qualify for more tax credits.
* Health insurance premiums after these new savings will go down.
* 4 out of 5 customers can find a plan for $10 or less per month.

Get Inspired: Small Business Success Story

In 2013, Chera Amlag and her husband Geo Quibuyen started a passion project, monthly Filipino pop-up dinners, where they could share their Filipino culture through food. Drawing inspiration from her first memories of cooking a Filipino dessert Halaya with her mother, Amlag combined her love of Ube, a purple yam, and cheesecake to create Ube Cheesecake, which people started requesting long after its debut during their second pop-up.
