Lt. Gov Dan Patrick

Critial Race Theory Rejected

It was recently reported that a 'racial activism group' in Dallas is asking white parents to sign a pledge agreeing not to send their children to Ivy League schools to "help correct historical wrongs."

I wish I was making this up. You can read more about it here.

This pledge is the same backward liberal thinking that you find in Critical Race Theory. This divisive philosophy argues that you are either the oppressed or the oppressor based on the color of your skin, which is something we know to be untrue.

Our nation has overcome great challenges in making sure every citizen can achieve the American Dream and frankly, every step taken towards the "woke" direction feels like a step backwards.

As the Left tries to shove these racist philosophies down our throats, parents continuously reject them. Parents don't want CRT taught in public schools brainwashing the young minds of their children.

The Texas Senate passed a bill banning the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Texas schools, ensuring CRT will not be taught to our students. Final passage of this bill into law will require the House Democrats who have fled the state to return to the House for a quorum, and the Texas Senate will continue to pass this bill over and over again until the House finally has a quorum.

Please continue to keep our state and our nation in your prayers. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.

Sincerely,

Dan Patrick
