Last year, Gov. McMaster left our communities exposed and unprepared during the height of the COVID-19 crisis. Small businesses closed, families struggled to put food on the table and pay rent, and South Carolinians died needlessly.
Even as we struggle to recover and rebuild a better, stronger South Carolina, McMaster is turning down federal relief funding and is now holding up critical recovery funds that our smaller cities and towns desperately need.
And as we brace ourselves for this new surge that is already wreaking havoc on our unvaccinated, the McMaster administration is not doing nearly enough to curb the spread of the Delta variant by getting as many folks vaccinated as possible to protect our most vulnerable.
