This month, Democrats helped millions of American families benefit from their first of many child tax credit payments.
As expected, anti-family Florida Senator Marco Rubio had something to say. Calling this life-saving money an “anti-work welfare check,” Rubio proved again just how out of touch he is with American families.
$300 a month won't cause a mass exodus of working people from their jobs like Rubio says, but it will provide a much-needed safety net for millions of American families. Take it from Florida Democratic Senate candidate Val Demings: “Health care and childcare aren't cheap, and daily necessities like gas, groceries, rent, and mortgage payments add up quickly. I am proud that we passed this critical support over GOP opposition … to ensure that families can stay on their feet.”
Demings is just the candidate we desperately need in the US Senate. She's in touch with her constituents, always ready to defend American families, and frankly, she actually understands what legislation America needs. Demings couldn't be more different from Marco Rubio, which is exactly why she's the woman for the job.
We're at the end of the first month of quarter three. We need to put Marco Rubio on notice, but we can't do that if we don't hit our end of month goal.
