Dear John,
It's one of the only bipartisan traditions in Congress that's remained standing. For the last 44 years, the Hyde Amendment has protected American taxpayers from funding abortion. But the Left wants that to change. Just yesterday, Nancy Pelosi's House passed the annual Labor-HHS appropriations bill without the Hyde Amendment for the first time in decades.
Watch this week's Pray Vote Stand to learn the history of the Hyde Amendment and why it is one of the most significant pieces of pro-life legislation in our country. Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) analyzes why, after decades of passing this amendment, the Democrats are trying to force American taxpayers, regardless of their personal or religious beliefs, to fund abortion. Congressman and physician Andy Harris (R-Md.), gives an update on where the Hyde Amendment and other pro-life legislation stands. Charlotte Lozier Institute President Chuck Donovan shares the history of the Hyde Amendment and its sponsor, the late Illinois congressman Henry Hyde. Ryan Bomberger, co-founder of The Radiance Foundation, debunks the Left's claim that the Hyde Amendment is "racist" and leads us in prayer for an end to all abortion.
We must raise our voices to save the Hyde Amendment -- tell your legislators to oppose taxpayer funding of abortion by visiting frcaction.org/savehyde!
