Dear John, 56 years ago today, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Social Security Act Amendments into law which established Medicare and Medicaid. Medicare and Medicaid were introduced by Democrats and passed in the House and Senate thanks to strong majorities in both chambers. That's the kind of bold legislation we're capable of delivering to the American people with Joe Biden in the White House. But with our Democratic majority in the Senate as slim as it is now, it's more difficult to pass the kind of legislation we need to meet this moment. That's why it couldn't be more important for us to expand our Senate majority next year. I'm committed to doing everything I can to ensure we flip as many Senate seats blue -- and protect as many vulnerable seats -- as possible, but I can't do it without your help. So I'm respectfully asking: Can I count on you to chip in any amount before tomorrow's end-of-month deadline? Even $5 or $10 can make a huge difference in our fight to protect and expand our Democratic Senate majority. Thank you so much for your support, Chris |
