Dear Actors Fund Friends, This week's events offer us a chance to celebrate and reflect. Another Broadway theater will soon reopen its doors with a documentary screening that serves as a testament to the value of the performing arts. Elsewhere, we remember and celebrate a performer taken from us too soon. Thank you for continuing to support a life in the arts, and we hope to see you soon. Andrew Polec: Legacy of Love Andrew Polec, the international star of Bat Out Of Hell, presents an all-new concert experience: Legacy of Love. Filmed before a live audience at the historic Bucks County Playhouse (and with The Mike Bond Quartet providing the onstage band), Legacy of Love is a showcase for Andrew’s dynamic vocals and features a lively mix of song genres including rock, pop, traditional musical theater and more. Special support for the live production and streaming event was provided by Rach Ireland. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund and Bucks County Playhouse's education programs.
The Show Must Go On Documentary Premiere The Show Must Go On, a new documentary from theater director Sammi Cannold and Emmy-winning filmmaker Dori Berinstein, will make its premiere at Broadway's Majestic Theatre in a one-night-only fundraiser benefiting The Actors Fund that will also feature live special appearances and performances to be announced. The documentary follows the companies of two productions in South Korea—the world tour of The Phantom of the Opera and the South Korean tour of Cats—as they pushed forward safely during the pandemic when the rest of the industry had shut down worldwide. The film also follows Andrew Lloyd Webber in the U.K. as he uses the South Korean companies' model in his fight for the future of theater in the West End. It is produced by co-directors Cannold and Berinstein, along with WYSIWYG Studios, CEO Kwan-Woo Park and Elizabeth Armstrong. Attendees must follow all COVID-19 safety measures and theater protocols set forth by the event. Please visit Telecharge for the most up-to-date information.
