We're in the final stretch.
Congress may wrap up negotiations on the infrastructure package and budget resolution by as soon as next week. That means we all need to redouble our efforts to secure Medicare improvements and expansion in this legislation right now.
The Senate has power to decide whether these life-saving measures are included in the budget resolution, and it’s our job to put as much pressure on them as possible to do the right thing.
Hundreds of you submitted personal stories earlier this week about how these Medicare improvements and expansion would impact your lives – and now we’re asking you to share some of those stories to help us put more pressure on key senators before a vote.
Will you watch and share our collection of personal story videos highlighting the impact that expanding and improving Medicare would have on the lives of so many across the country? A few of the key senators in this process are tagged in the videos, so each “like” and “retweet” shows how many people are watching and builds more pressure on them to act.
Today is especially significant because it’s the 56-year anniversary of the day that Medicare was enacted into law.
For 56 years, this program has protected the health and well-being of millions of families. Now we have a chance to substantially improve and expand it.
Together we are calling on Congress to lower eligibility to 60, include dental, hearing, and vision, set an out-of-pocket cap, and allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices.
We must take this opportunity to immediately improve the lives of millions of people and reduce the power of the corporate health care industry while we simultaneously continue the fight for full Medicare for All.
Thanks for sharing these powerful stories.
