One of our latest endorsees, Graysen Martinez Ocasio, qualified for the ballot this week and is hard at work preparing for his September primary in the race for the Salem (MA) City Council. When he wins, Greysen will be the first Latinx & Indigenous out trans person elected in the United States.

OUT FOR AMERICA

Out for America

LGBTQ Victory Institute, our sister organization, released its 2021 Out for America report, an annual look at the number and demographics of out LGBTQ elected officials in the United States. The number of out elected officials increased by 17% and a record-breaking 986 are currently serving in elected office in the United States! 2021: HISTORY IN THE MAKING

Both the Firefighters Association of New Jersey and the New Jersey State Building & Construction Trades Council have endorsed Vincent Solomeno. If elected, Vincent will flip his seat and make history as the first out person elected to the New Jersey state Senate!

Mariah Moore, our candidate for the New Orleans City Council, spoke with Big Easy Magazine about the growing need for infrastructure reform and her commitment to creating more affordable housing options in New Orleans. She also spoke with LGBTQ Nation about how her career as a trans activist prepared her for life as an out candidate on the campaign trail.

POWERING THE 2022 RAINBOW WAVE

Happy birthday, Malcolm Kenyatta! Malcolm is currently running to be the first out gay man elected to the U.S. Senate, and the first Black LGBTQ Senator in U.S. history.

Watch: Heather Mizeur dropped another campaign ad in her race for Maryland's first Congressional District. Heather is fighting to flip this seat, which is currently held by a Trump-supporting, 2020-election-denying bigot.

U.S. Congresswoman Angie Craig, who is one of the top 2022 targets for the National Republican Congressional Committee, reported another strong fundraising quarter, bringing in $610,000 over the past three months.
