John,
For 56 years, Medicare has guaranteed coverage for basic medical care as a right to older Americans. But, as we fight to expand access to high quality, affordable healthcare for millions more people and families, we’re facing down greedy corporations who don’t want to pay their fair share in taxes—including pharmaceutical companies who rely on taxpayer-funded research even as they jack up prices and stash profits in tax havens.[1]
Democrats in Congress have the chance to expand Medicare through budget reconciliation: adding vision, hearing and dental coverage; placing a cap on out-of-pocket healthcare expenses; lowering the Medicare eligibility age from 65 to 60; and allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, which would benefit everyone, not just those on Medicare.
We have an opportunity to make healthcare more affordable for seniors and working people nearing retirement―and do so with just 50 votes in the Senate, bypassing the filibuster. We can afford this investment AND ease the burden of high healthcare costs on seniors and working families when the rich and corporations pay their fair share in taxes.
Today, on the 56th anniversary of the enactment of Medicare, can you chip in $5.60 to fight to expand healthcare services and coverage to millions more Americans―paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share?
President Biden has called for taxing wealth like work, holding tax dodging corporations accountable, and making sure the richest 1% pay their fair share. When they do, we can pay for critical investments in our future, including expanding healthcare services and access to millions more people.
On the 56th anniversary of Medicare, donate $5.60 to expand healthcare services and ease the burden of high healthcare costs on millions of people.

Thank you for all that you do to create an economy that rewards work, not wealth, and invests in our future.
