Let’s all think back to one year ago, friends. Not only was our country in the height of the coronavirus pandemic, but we were in the height of campaign season, too.

One year ago, we were preparing for the DNC Convention, having Kamala Harris announced as our VP nominee, and looking at what several election analysts deemed a “Safe Democratic” IL-14.

But flash forward to November of 2020 and our race was anything BUT safe! It wasn’t until nine days after Election Day that the Associated Press called our race -- and it wouldn’t be until May of *this year* that Lauren’s victory was confirmed by the U.S. House after six months of litigation.
