There is an amazing opportunity to transform the face of leadership in our country – but it all depends on flipping the South blue. Let me explain:

Our Democratic Senate majority is razor-thin. And we can't just defend it, we have to expand it – and two of our best pickup opportunities are in the South: Florida and North Carolina.

CNN is saying that both seats are two of the most likely to flip – so in a moment, I'm going to ask you to split a donation between me and my friend Cheri Beasley in North Carolina. With your help, we can be our states' first Black women senators. 

As the former chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, Cheri spent her career making decisions in cases, seeking the truth when it’s hardest to find, and understanding how laws impact people’s lives. She's running to open the doors of opportunity for all North Carolinians – but here's the problem: The Senate Republican campaign arm just hauled in $28 million last quarter, money they will undoubtedly use to defeat us and flip the Senate for Mitch McConnell. 

The GOP is doing everything in its power to stop Cheri and me from expanding the Senate majority, so please: Will you donate $5 today to defend and expand our Senate majority? Every donation will be split between my campaign and Cheri's.

Cheri and I both believe in creating economic opportunities for American families, expanding access to health care and protecting our fundamental right to vote. We both know what it's like not to have a seat at the table. And we know this: If we lose in 2022 – we lose a meaningful win for representation and leadership for Floridians, North Carolinians and the country. 

Right now, we have a real shot at winning, but the GOP will pull out all the stops to defeat us, so we have to keep momentum. Democrats' wins in Georgia show that we can and should compete everywhere – and Roll Call says Florida and North Carolina can decide Senate control. 

That's why Cheri and I are working together to raise $20,000 today to fight back against the GOP. It's going to take a groundbreaking grassroots push to defend our Democratic majorities and flip both Florida and North Carolina blue – and that means I need your help, friend:
