Hi John! Nate here, Mike’s Finance Director.
We're no strangers to tough fights, and we know what it's going to take to hold the House and keep CA-49 blue. Mike's won two very competitive races -- first in 2018 when we flipped this seat, and then again in 2020 when we successfully defended it.
But next year is presenting new, significant challenges the likes of which we haven't seen yet. We're headed into a midterm that history tells us will be tough for Democrats. And since this is a redistricting year, it's likely we'll have new voters brought into the district who don’t know Mike yet.
With these changes, you’d think my job would be easier and that we would have no problem raising the resources we need. But the truth is we're seeing *unprecedented* fundraising on the Republican side, and ours has actually
ticked down a bit.
