In 30 seconds, I’m going to ask you to give $5. But first, let me explain why.
On my first day of sixth grade, a school official told us --
“Look around. Chances are that half of you won't be here when it's time to graduate from the eighth grade."
The next morning my mom announced we’d attend a different school. She had higher aspirations for us.
I know what it’s like to grow up in an immigrant family in an underserved neighborhood.
I know what it’s like to be told you’ll fail -- that you might not even make it past middle school.
I know what it’s like to believe you could never be President -- and that’s exactly what qualifies me to be President.
And at last night’s debate, I stood up for folks who face the same adversity I’ve faced.
I hope I made you proud -- and I’m asking you to pitch in $5 before midnight to keep me in this race and make history. I need $100,000 in the door before midnight. All gifts will be matched.
I’m proud of our campaign because we’re standing up for folks who have faced adversity.
My People First Immigration Plan ends the policy that allows kids to be separated from their families.
My People First Policing Plan ends over-aggressive policing and holds police accountable.
My People First Education Plan would help every child get a quality education -- so no kid will be set up to fail.
I’m standing up for people who face tough odds in life -- and I need your help to beat the odds in one of the most crowded fields in history.
