“House Republicans post record fundraising ahead of 2022 race”
- Associated Press

I recently saw this headline, which made me think about the tough race we have ahead of us in 2022.

Washington Republicans are bringing in huge fundraising numbers to power their efforts to retake control of the House next year.

Fundraising doesn’t win or lose races. There’s so much more that goes into it: on-the-ground organization, knocking doors, making calls, events like town halls, and so much more.

But our fundraising numbers are a sign of the momentum and they also determine whether we’ll be able to execute all of those important efforts that make for a winning campaign.

And we’re in for a particularly tough race this time around. Democrats hold the House by only five seats and the out-of-power party (this year, that’s Washington Republicans) historically gains seats during the midterms. And the National GOP has made me one of only 10 special targets for 2022.

There’s no doubt it’s going to be tough, but this team is capable of overcoming big challenges -- we’ve done it before. First in 2018 when we made the biggest swing from red to blue in the entire country and again in 2020 when we won a frontline race for re-election.

We can do this if everyone pitches in. If you can, please consider making your first contribution of the year before the end-of-month deadline tomorrow.
