I’m so eager to fill you in on some of the conversations we are having with our first partner states. My team is really doing a thorough analysis of the on-the-ground landscape and we are getting very close to being ready to share with you our official partner organizations in Alabama, Mississippi, and West Virginia.

As my team and I finish up our conversations and strategic planning sessions with those on the ground, I wanted to jump start our Partner State Grant Fund. One of the first sources of assistance with our partner organizations is providing a grant to help them immediately expand their efforts.

Your early contribution to our grant funding efforts, will go a long way to making sure we have what we need to hit the ground running when we announce our partner organizations.

I personally set a goal for my team to raise $60,000 to start (20K for each state). Our goal is to be at least 20% to goal by our budget deadline this Saturday. Can I count on you?

With all the breaking news coming out of Alabama over the last few weeks (from a major labor strike to public, racist slurs by elected officials), I’ve seen first hand just how far our grants can go for our future partner organizations. Many of the leading organizing groups in our partner states are hamstrung in these frontline fights by a lack of resources. That has to change.

My hope is to close the gap in political spending resources in Alabama, Mississippi, and West Virginia through Groundwork's efforts. I know that this is the ONLY way we can play the long game and shift the political map in the years (and decades) to come.

However, we can only go so far without a dependable group of supporters (you) by our side. That’s why I’m personally reaching out to ask you to contribute ahead of our budget deadline on Saturday.
