Hey John,

You may have seen that I was arrested last week
while protesting for voting rights at the Capitol. I seemed to
have caused quite a stir, and I went on cable to talk about why I
was at that protest.

In the entire history of this nation, most of it
has been spent without the right to vote for Black people. Only
the past few decades have Black people been legally allowed to
vote, and even now Republicans are trying to gut that right
again.

It may not be as obvious as the Jim Crow laws, but
the GOP is hoping for the same result by purging Black voters
from rolls, removing polling locations from Black communities,
and instituting harsh ID requirements that disproportionately
impact Black folks.

They’re hoping for the same results as Jim Crow
laws, they’re just better at hiding it now with their Jim Crow
2.0. Will you donate to our campaign today so we can protect the
right of Black people to vote in this country?

Republicans are rewriting the rules to suit them
for next year’s midterms, and they’re raising boatloads of cash
to defeat Democrats. Tomorrow is the last day before our fundraising
deadline, and I’m determined to show Republicans that we aren’t
going down without a fight.

Will you help us show Republicans that they can’t
defeat us even if they try to tip the scales in their favor?
Donate today and they will know we won’t stop fighting.
