Make sure to sign up for the Chamber's free Small Business Roundtable on August 25 from 11:45 a.m.-1:00 p.m. as we welcome Elizabeth Jones Valderrama, Executive Director, OAR of Arlington, Alexandria, and Falls Church, to talk about "banning the box" and hiring BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) talent.

OAR is a community-based nonprofit which envisions a safe and thriving community where those impacted by the legal system enjoy equal civil and human rights. OAR's downstream work allows them to be on the journey with individuals of all genders returning to the community from incarceration and support their families in the homecoming process.

In this month’s Small Business Roundtable, learn why it is important for employers to "ban the box" and the additional benefits they get from hiring individuals that previously experienced incarceration. OAR will also be sharing resources on the importance of hiring BIPOC talent and other diverse populations.
