Dear Friend,

It’s our birthday week and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate!

Adhikaar turned 16 and we have so much to be thankful for. Sixteen years ago, in 2005, with $500 and a vision for social change, four immigrant women of color began a journey to ensure the voices and experiences of the Nepali-speaking community were at the forefront of social justice movement building and legislative advocacy in the US.

Today we are the country’s only worker and community center dedicated to serving and building the power of the Nepali-speaking workers and immigrants. Together we are developing a new community of leaders who push gender, class and other boundaries within their families, in their places of work, and within and outside the halls of government.

We are grateful to our community members, leaders, volunteers, past and present staff and board members, funders and partner organizations who have been instrumental in helping Adhikaar thrive. Most importantly our members. Without our membership, Adhikaar would not be where we are today. Our success is their success.

This transformative work we have been doing needs support from allies and donors like you. Please consider making a birthday gift to Adhikaar today so that we can continue building on our wins!

Thank you for sixteen successful years.

Pabitra Khati Benjamin,

Executive Director, Adhikaar
