Next Wednesday, RTĂ is devoting its primetime slot after the Nine News to screening the pro-abortion film The 8th.
The film which is marketed as a documentary is nothing of the sort. It is a wall to wall pro-abortion propaganda production that makes no effort to include the pro-life perspective or to challenge any of the myths and falsehoods propagated by abortion campaigners.
To add insult to injury, RTĂ is using taxpayersâ money to heavily advertise the screening taking place next week.
We didnât learn today or yesterday about the blatant and embedded problem of bias at RTĂ. It has existed for years and itâs not going to change overnight. That doesnât mean for a second that we should tolerate whatâs going on. Quite the opposite.
One of the difficulties we face is convincing people of the seriousness of the problem. So many people accept what the media presents without questioning it. The first thing we must do is educate and inform people about the problem. There are lots of ways we can reach people and we should always be on the look out for new and novel approaches.
The e-card campaign to RTĂ that the PLC have been running has resulted in thousands of cards being sent to the Director General of RTĂ in recent weeks seeking a written explanation on why pro-life supporters should be expected to pay the TV licence given the outrageously slanted way RTĂ covers the abortion issue. We need to see thousands more e-cards reaching the Director General in the coming weeks! It only takes a minute to sign and itâs an effective way to make your voice heard.

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear an abortion case submitted by the Mississippi Attorney General thatâs being described as the most significant challenge to Roe v. Wade since the 1973 decision introduced wide-ranging abortion across the US. The Dobbs -v- Jackson case was filed in June 2020.
In her submission, Attorney General Lynn Fitch wrote: âUnder the Constitution, may a State prohibit elective abortions before viability? Yes. Why? Because nothing in constitutional text, structure, history, or tradition supports a right to abortion.â
The case refers back to 2018 when the Mississippi legislature passed the Gestational Age Act, which limited abortion after 15 weeks to very limited grounds. The stateâs only abortion clinic took a case against the new law and won in federal district court. When Mississippi lost its appeal at the 5th Circuit, Attorney General Fitch decided to bring the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Previous attempts to ban or limit abortion in the US have been thrown out by the Supreme Court on technicalities but Attorney General Fitch argues her case doesnât rest on a technicality but raises the issue of the constitutionality of abortion itself.
Itâs significant that the Supreme Court have agreed to hear the case and as the court is believed to have a pro-life majority since 2020, it will be very interesting to watch how this latest case proceeds. Letâs hope it delivers a pro-life result!
Pro-life group Live Action recently posted one of its videos featuring an investigator (23 weeks pregnant) who went undercover in the US in clinics that perform late-term abortions. The woman is repeatedly lied to by the abortion providers as they seek to underplay how developed her baby is at 23 weeks and what happens to the baby if it survives the abortion and is born alive.
We know abortion kills an unborn baby, but itâs not said often enough that lying to women is another abiding feature of the abortion industry. They lie to women
all the time but get away with it by always resorting to their mantra about championing âwomenâs rightsâ.
Live Actionâs harrowing but excellent undercover work is must see viewing and serves as an important reminder never to fall into the trap of accepting the claim by abortion providers that they are genuine defenders of womenâs rights.
As readers may know, the Medical Council has launched a public consultation as part of the upcoming review of its Guide to Professional Conduct and Ethics for registered medical practitioners.  The closing date for sending submissions is Wednesday 4th August 2021.
Itâs a really important opportunity for doctors and healthcare professionals to make their views known and to influence the ethical guidelines governing medical practitioners for the next five years.  We encourage every doctor to make a submission, even if itâs only a paragraph or two in length.
The amended Guide issued by the Medical Council in 2019 (after the new abortion law was introduced) greatly undermined freedom of conscience protections for doctors who donât wish to participate in abortions in any way.
It is critically important that the Medical Council receive the message loud and clear that changes are needed in this and other areas of the Guide.

A Day in the Life of RTĂâs Coverage of Abortion is an illuminating overview of RTĂâs coverage of the abortion issue on the 3rd anniversary of the referendum (25th May 2021). Itâs an example of a typical day when abortion is in the news and how RTĂ treats the issue.
Thereâs much talk at present about biased coverage but itâs only when things are properly documented that the full scale of the problem becomes apparent. We strongly encourage you to take a few minutes to read this important new document from the Pro Life Campaign.
On a related matter, itâs been over 2 months since the PLC E-card initiative to RTĂ started. Since then literally thousands of people have signed the card calling on RTĂâs Director General to explain why pro-life supporters should be expected to continue paying the TV licence given RTĂâs incredibly biased reporting on the pro-life issue.
It is unacceptable but very telling the way RTĂ has refused to respond to those who sent E-cards. If you havenât already signed the E-card, please do so today and SPREAD THE WORD to family and friends.
As you may already be aware, the Pro Life Campaign are running a campaign to make sure that we hold our national broadcaster RTĂ to account for its glaringly one-sided coverage of the abortion issue.Â

Participants on the programme will have an opportunity to network with other young people and develop skills in advocacy, campaign management and project planning.
Internships run for one-week periods and are suitable for second level (Transition year or older) and third level students.
Each intern will do 4 hours supervised work each day and will be working on areas such as social media, contact with members of the movement nationwide, project planning and contributing to support work for women and their babies.
Internships are not paid, however expenses will be covered.
