We did—and we’d prefer any of the candidates on that stage to Donald Trump. Here’s the catch: beating Trump won’t mean much if Mitch McConnell is still in charge.
For a new Democratic president to get anything done, we must flip the U.S. Senate—and we can start in Colorado.
The good news: Cory Gardner is the most vulnerable Republican in the Senate, with an approval rating of just 37%. Even a generic Democrat leads Gardner by 10 points.
But we deserve more than a generic Democrat. Let’s replace Gardner with a progressive champion—and one of the most effective legislative leaders in America.

Case in point: we’ve held five debates in the past five weeks, but most voters didn’t hear about any of them. John Hickenlooper—the candidate handpicked by the Washington establishment—skipped most of these events, and the press corps largely ignored them.
To make matters worse, the state party forbids candidates to record or live-stream its forums. So critical discussions about the Green New Deal and Medicare for All are buried in a ballroom.
The bottom line: we can’t rely on the press or the party to reach voters. We need your help to succeed.
