** Immigrants Rising’s Response to the Texas Judge’s Ruling on DACA
------------------------------------------------------------
On July 16, 2021, a Texas judge issued a ruling partially ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. We feel the pain and frustration that comes from our community, and we are redoubling our commitment to support the undocumented community, with or without DACA, to achieve their educational and career goals.
In response to the new DACA ruling, we’ve prepared some next steps that you can take:
* Read and share our latest updates on DACA. ([link removed])
* Catch us on Instagram LIVE. ([link removed]) Our next live conversation will be on Monday, August 2 at 12 p.m. PT / 3 p.m. ET with our partner organization NAKASEC.
* Take Action with NAKASEC ([link removed]) to demand that Congress and the White House take decisive action to create a pathway to citizenship.

** Community Stories
------------------------------------------------------------
** “It took me more than a decade to share my story. It's important that we highlight the intersectionality of being both Black and undocumented, because of the way Black immigrants are disproportionately impacted by this immigration system.”
------------------------------------------------------------
Immigrants Rising community members Denea Joseph and Ju Hong join KQED to share how the new DACA ruling affects DACA recipients and why it's important to have a more permanent pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. Read Story ([link removed])
