That might be your expanded Child Tax Credit, an important initiative of President Biden’s American Rescue Plan Act that has the potential to cut child poverty in half – but only if Congress makes it permanent. Today, Maura led a coalition of 23 Attorneys General calling for just that.

One in seven children in the country, including right here in Massachusetts, live in poverty, which has long lasting, negative impacts on their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. A permanent, expanded child tax credit would make a meaningful impact in the ability of families to provide for their children, which will benefit us all in the long run.
