Last night at the Democratic Debate, Senator Sanders again called climate change the greatest threat in history. He demanded a Green New Deal that will create 20 million jobs and end our reliance on fossil fuels, and here in Louisiana we are fighting to make that happen!
New Orleans DSA has joined in a coalition, Gulf South for a Green New Deal. New Orleans DSA is demanding a Green New Deal for Louisiana with over 50 organizations! New Orleans DSA and Baton Rouge DSA are the only explicitly socialist organizations in this coalition, so it's up to us to present a clear socialist perspective.
At our General Meeting on Monday 10/21 we'll be voting to endorse the Policy Platform created by Gulf South for a Green New Deal. Through this debate we'll sharpen our strategy for environmental justice organizing. If you have time, read the Policy Platform in the link above!

Join us for our next general meeting! We'll hear from DSA-endorsed candidate Marguerite Green, review the flurry of events from the past month, and vote on resolutions from members, including a Workers for Bernie Campaign.
You can find the full agenda packet here, with text of each resolution.
