have launched an entirely new organization, Democracy for America Advocacy
Fund, which will place the preservation of our democracy front and center
as we push for bedrock progressive issues that put people first!

Over the coming months, we will be sharing more about the work that
Democracy for America Advocacy Fund will focus on, while also sharing
events, actions, and more ways for you to get involved in work that will
restore our democracy’s foundation.

As you likely know, in the 17 years since our founding, DFA has worked
diligently to advance progressive issues. We see the preservation of our

Whenever I talk to our members to get a sense of what they view as the
most pressing issue we must address, they agree that we must prioritize
structural democracy reform.

We are watching Republicans, desperate to regain power by any means
necessary, embrace and uplift white supremacy, violence, and oppressive
authoritarian tactics.

We can also see how Republicans are successfully etching voter suppression
into our laws and continuing to chip away at our most fundamental right.

The past few years have shown us that the democracy that we hold dear is

just how far Republicans and their allies are willing to go to destroy our
democracy as a means to preserve power.

Given the grave danger that this poses, the Democracy For America Advocacy
Fund’s early areas of focus will center around preserving our democracy
through structural democracy reform.

Structural democracy reform includes:

* Defending and expanding voting rights
* Adopting ranked-choice voting
* Ending gerrymandering
* Abolishing the filibuster
* Ending big money in politics
* Reforming the judiciary
* Opening primaries
* Expanding justice reform

The path to a more progressive, reflective, and responsive democracy will
require us to seriously address each of these key areas.
