In a minute, I'm going to ask you to chip in toward a critical end-of-month goal for our campaign. But before I do, I wanted to follow up on my email from a couple of weeks ago about a tough trend we see in grassroots fundraising during the summer months.
Fundraising, especially the small-dollar donations Pramila relies on, really slows down in July and August. In fact, we’re a full 47% behind on grassroots fundraising compared to last month. And that couldn’t be happening at a worse moment with Pramila’s fight for working families at a critical point.
Pramila’s fight to end the filibuster and pass historic voting rights legislation is up against a mid-August deadline — if we don’t pass the For The People Act by then, experts say these voting and democracy reforms cannot be implemented before the 2022 midterm elections. If Democrats don’t pass this bill, Republican voter suppression measures and partisan gerrymandering could hand the GOP control of the U.S. House.
And that’s just one of the crucial fights Pramila is leading on. She’s working to expand Medicare in the fight for Medicare for All. She’s working to combat climate change in the fight for a Green New Deal. She’s working to go big, bold, and fast on this next big spending bill so we can deliver for working people.
Pramila needs your support at this critical time in her fight to transform this country so it finally works for working people. Can you chip in $3 during these slow summer months to boost our fundraising and help us catch up? We set a goal to bring in 2,000 donations before the end of July, so each contribution helps us hit our goal:
Thank you so much for your support,
Lauren
