Before Katie won her first race in 2018, our district hadn’t sent a Democrat to Congress in over 30 years. Flipping it from red to blue was thought of as a “pie in the sky” fantasy.
But earlier this year, Democrats officially surpassed Republicans in our district. This huge update is the result of years and years of hard work from many grassroots organizations. And with your support, we’ve invested in registering new and young voters and organizing underrepresented communities year-round in Orange County—and it’s making an incredible difference.

But John, this does not mean that we can let up now. Rather, it means that we must keep up this important work through 2021 and beyond. Despite the fact that there are more Democrats in the district, the numbers are incredibly close. This is still a very competitive district for a Democrat to be in—and we need to keep making progress between now and the 2022 election.
This recent news around Democrats surpassing Republicans in our district could cause the GOP to start targeting our district even more to tip back to a Republican majority. We can’t let this happen, John. Can you pitch in $3 or anything you can so our team can fight back and hold this district?
