Driving a Youth Employment Agenda

CLASP and The New Deal for Youth’s Changemakers have been actively engaged with the Biden-Harris Administration in driving a youth employment agenda. Last week, we co-hosted an Instagram Live event with the White House Office of Public Engagement following a briefing on how the Build Back Better agenda will create a better future for young Americans. Our Instagram event provided a space to hear from young people directly about the administration’s agenda. Earlier this week CLASP’s Duy Pham, along with Changemakers Sixto-Cancel and Isabel Coronado, spoke at a White House roundtable on youth employment. And CNN quoted CLASP and Changemakers in a recent story on the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to actively engaging young people.

In a new fact sheet, we outline how subsidized employment is particularly important for getting youth and young adults who’ve been impacted by the criminal legal system into the labor force.  We also published a new explainer providing an overview of subsidized jobs.
