Hi Friend, did you see this?
This morning, three of our incredible Texas Democrats in D.C. gave their testimony in Congress. They spoke about the long and violent history of voter suppression in our state. They testified on how Texas Republicans are keeping that history alive. And they advocated for Texas communities and putting an end to these Republican attacks.
Here’s what the great Rep. Senfronia Thompson told Congress today:

Subject: we are the national face of voting rights
Friend,
Today, three of our Texas House Democrats are testifying in the halls of Congress. Representatives Senfronia Thompson, Nicole Collier, and Diego Bernal will speak in front of the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform -- in a hearing specifically about the attacks on voting rights in Texas.
Friend, I’ve said it before, and I’ll continue to say it: we are being heard. Our lawmakers have met with ally after ally to build our powerful coalition and beat back Texas Republicans’ attacks on our right to vote. Now, they’re testifying directly to the decision-makers who can protect our rights at the federal level.

Texas Democrats are the face of the national struggle for voting rights. Our communities are the frontline. And if the last few weeks have proven anything, it’s that we’re not going back. People of color, young people, and people with disabilities have fought too long in this country to see our right to vote stripped away. We will take this fight all the way to the end.
In service and hope,
