[1]Women's March

John, moments in
history like this one are why Women's March exists.

We're witnessing coordinated attacks on our voting rights and reproductive
rights — all coming from the same GOP state legislatures, think tanks,
funders, and politicos. Threats are coming at us from anti-woman
Republicans at all levels, and it will require nothing short of a
women-led mass movement to defend the progress we've won.

I won't lie to you: As Executive Director of Women's March, part of me
feared that people would tune out of politics after we defeated Donald
Trump and won a slim Democratic majority. Honestly, some folks have.

But not you, John
— you have proven time and again that you're the kind of person who is
dedicated to our fight for a truly feminist future in which women can not
only survive, but thrive.

That's why, with just two days before our end-of-month July deadline, I
want to share our robust plan to address the threats we're facing and how
Women's March is uniquely positioned to combat them all. [ [link removed] ]Please donate
$3 right now to help reach our goal, and then read on to
the end of this email to hear how your contribution today will impact our
fight.

DEFENDING REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS AND ABORTION ACCESS

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court announced that they would hear a case
involving Mississippi's dangerous 15-week abortion ban — a decision with
the potential to severely undermine our constitutional right to an
abortion. And last week, Mississippi made their intentions clear as day:
They explicitly asked the ultra-conservative Supreme Court to completely
OVERTURN Roe v. Wade. With over 70% of all Americans in support of Roe,
this attack must be read for what it is: An experiment in overturning the
will of the people.

You don’t have to be a lawyer to understand what they're
saying, John:
It’s plain. This is the most direct and dire threat to our reproductive
health in decades, which is why we launched our urgent Reproductive
Justice Fund to publicly pressure Democratic lawmakers to pass the Women's
Health Protection Act. [ [link removed] ]The Women's Health Protection Act would defend
abortion rights under federal law, so please chip in now if you're
committed to its passage and our massive public advocacy campaign it will
take to get it done.

SECURING THE RIGHT TO VOTE AND PASSING THE FOR THE PEOPLE ACT

We must pass the For the People Act,
John. As GOP legislatures pass
law after law rolling back the sacred right to vote and impose Jim
Crow-esque restrictions aimed at suppressing the votes of Black and brown
people, there has never been a more urgent time.

It's no coincidence that these are the same states that are imposing
controlling and unconstitutional laws restricting abortion rights: The GOP
is desperate to control women, our bodies, and our votes.

Women's March is taking a multi-faceted approach to fighting for voting
rights: We've partnered nationally with groups like Black Voters Matter,
and we gathered the signatures of over 27,000 Women's Marchers to tell
companies based in Georgia to condemn their racist voter suppression
bills. Finally, we're holding Trump's Sedition Caucus accountable for
their deadly insurrection and efforts to sow disinformation about the 2020
election. [ [link removed] ]This work depends on grassroots support, so please consider
chipping in to support our work in defense of voting rights and preserving
our democracy.

BUILDING A FEMINIST FUTURE

We marched, mobilized, organized, and voted to win the White House,
Senate, AND the House. And now Democrats must act boldly to fulfill their
campaign promises — and Women's Marchers are turning up the pressure to
make sure that happens.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren addressing Women's Marchers about a Wealth Tax

We must end the racist filibuster, raise the national minimum wage,
protect Dreamers, pass a wealth tax, invest in a Green New Deal, pass
feminist budgets at the local levels, and so much more. [ [link removed] ]Women's March
organizers and volunteers are on the front lines of ALL of these
important, intertwined fights, so please donate in support of these urgent
priorities.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to read about all the work
that Women's March is doing to fight for our rights and to build a future
that we, and future generations, can be proud of.

I can't say enough how grateful I am that you have chosen to stay engaged
in this urgent work, even when others have disengaged from politics after
the 2020 election. It's people like you,
John — who know these fights
must continue every year, and all year round — who are making the
difference.

[ [link removed] ]If you're able, please contribute your first $3 of 2021
before Saturday's fundraising deadline to help reach our
July fundraising goal and support Women's March's crucial role in all of
these urgent battles to protect our rights.

P.S. I know this was a longer email than usual,
John, but with anti-woman
politicians trying to rip away our reproductive rights, voting rights, and
human rights, we have so much work ahead of us. [ [link removed] ]If you can, please
donate $3 or more before Saturday at midnight to help
Women's Marchers keep up our most urgent fights.
