I’m emailing All On The Line supporters today to let you know how much I appreciate all you do to protect our most fundamental right -- the right to vote.

We’re living in a tumultuous time for our democracy. That was reaffirmed by this month’s Supreme Court decision that upheld insidious voting restrictions in Arizona. It’s clear we can no longer count on the Supreme Court to preserve access to the ballot box or fair voting districts. But I want to assure you that we will still win the fight for fair elections.

All On The Line believes we can restore our democracy by training people like you about how to engage in tackling gerrymandering issues and the fight for comprehensive voting rights legislation. I believe in their mission, but they’re counting on steady support from grassroots donors to get it done.

Can I count on you to push All On The Line’s mission a little bit closer to the finish line with a donation today?

The truth is that the manipulation of America’s electoral districts by some state legislatures and the wave of unfair voter suppression laws sweeping our country go hand-in-hand.

Since the ruthless gerrymandering we witnessed across the country in 2011, conservative politicians in some states have seen how effective their cocktail of restrictive voting laws and rigged maps can be. But they’ve also watched our organizing power grow -- including with the creation of this first-of-its-kind movement to deliver fair maps.

It is our very strength that is producing this last grasp at power from conservative state legislatures. They are using every tool at their disposal to maintain their majorities and choose their own voters instead of letting the people fairly decide elections.

I’ll be doing my part in the Senate to work as hard as I can for comprehensive voting rights legislation -- and I appreciate all you’ve done to help us win that fight. But we have a ways to go and I know All On The Line will help us get there.
