Dear john,
In 12-year-old Naro's village in Madagascar, many households live on an income of less than $1 a day. For most children, there is just one meal, stretched to feed the entire family.
Chronic hunger was robbing Naro of his health, his energy and his hope for a different life. It was hard to listen and learn in school with his empty stomach rumbling. But then something truly life-changing happened . . .
Friends like you gave the gift of meals, creating a lifeline for this struggling community. Now with nutritious food to eat every day, Naro and his classmates are full of energy, their grades are improving and attendance has gone up.
In honor of World Food Day, please make a gift of meals towards our goal of $20,000 to reach more children whose health, hopes and dreams are threatened by hunger.
Naro's future has been restored by regular access to nutritious food. He says, "Now that I benefit from Rise Against Hunger meals, I eat lunch at school and no longer feel hungry during classes. When I grow up, I'd like to become an entrepreneur and own my own company."
Thank you for standing with Rise Against Hunger on World Food Day to reach children with healthy, lifesaving, life-changing food 365 days a year!
In partnership to end hunger,
Peggy Shriver
