Earlier this week, our January 6 select committee began formal investigations into the deadliest attack against our Capitol in history. We've seen heart-wrenching testimony from brave Capitol police officers who risked their lives to protect my colleagues and I -- and I'm proud to see Democrats take the lead in uncovering the truth.

But I'm also disgusted by what I'm seeing in the Capitol. GOP House leaders are deflecting and denying their role in that day. They're more interested in spreading baseless lies and conspiracy theories than defending our democracy or the truth.

The American people deserve better, John. You deserve better. That's why I'm committed to upholding the truth in Washington -- every day. I'm fighting to stay in this seat so I can continue representing you and the families in our district.
