Over the past seven months, we’ve accomplished so much in the face of all-out Republican obstructionism by Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy.
We passed the American Rescue Plan Act which increased the monthly Child Tax Credit up to $300 per child, expanded health care coverage, extended unemployment insurance, and so much more. Most noteworthy, Democrats passed this $1.9 trillion rescue legislation without a single Republican vote.
We’re still facing the same obstinate obstruction from the GOP as before. After weeks of negotiation on a bipartisan infrastructure bill, Senate Republicans filibustered their own legislation last week to prevent so much as a debate.
It’s shameful. It’s frustrating. And it’s unacceptable to the American people.
The GOP has already tried to claim credit for the American Rescue Plan, and they will again. They took the dough and still voted no. So for us to keep our majorities and overcome their relentless lies, deception, and fear-mongering, we must ensure people remember that not a single Republican voted for the American Rescue Plan Act during our country’s greatest time of need. Not one.
We must demand better. There is no margin for error. With our slim House and Senate majorities, we must elect Democrats across the country, and overcome millions of dollars in dark money attacks along the way. We cannot allow Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy to stop our progress. We’ve come too far.
Now more than ever we must defend and expand our Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate.
