Dear Team,
What would happen in your state if the U.S. Supreme Court weakened or
overturned Roe v. Wade?
The answer is shocking: If Roe were weakened or overturned, it would
open the door for lawmakers at the state and federal levels to further
restrict abortion in the United States. Our research shows that 24
states and three U.S. territories could take immediate action to ban
abortion outright.
We're headed to the U.S. Supreme Court to defend Roe and it's clear
that there's a lot on the line.

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court agreed to hear our case, Dobbs v.
Jackson Women's Health Organization, which challenges a Mississippi
law banning abortion after just 15 weeks of pregnancy. The case poses
a direct challenge to Roe, and there is no path for the Court to
uphold Mississippi's ban without overturning the core holding of that
landmark 1973 decision.
For years, the Center has been ringing the alarm to make clear that a
Roe reversal would be devastating. Twelve states-including
Mississippi-currently have trigger bans on the books?which
are intended to instantaneously ban abortion if Roe is overturned.
While abortion remains legal in all 50 states, this Supreme Court
battle is vital to the future of abortion access in the United States.
