Every New Yorker deserves the right to a healthy and safe workplace. With your support, the NY Essential Workers Coalition won the groundbreaking NY HERO Act so that our communities are protected from Covid-19 and whatever may come next. Now it is up to our state agencies to implement this groundbreaking legislation so we are fully prepared for this current Covid surge. Vaccinations will be key to our recovery but it is not enough. The CDC is right to issue guidance on masking in indoor public spaces. We need the NY HERO Act to ensure those kinds of common sense protections are enforced. This includes strong, enforceable standards and a voice in the workplace. That is why we are urging the state to quickly implement common sense protections that New Yorkers deserve.

The first-in-the-nation NY HERO Act is a model for this country to fight the global Covid spread. Governor Cuomo, NY state legislature, and our state agencies stood by us to ensure that the NY HERO Act was signed into law. Now we have the opportunity to use the tools we have won to protect our communities. Let your voice be heard by ensuring that New York quickly implements common sense protections.
