Remember Brett Kavanaugh's chaotic confirmation process? We have learned that, for the first time in Supreme Court confirmation history, the FBI opened a public tip hotline for anyone with information about then-nominee Brett Kavanaugh's moral fitness to serve.
The tip line received an eye-popping 4,500 calls. Few, if any, were investigated. Then the FBI handed the records over to Donald Trump's White House.
You know what happened next, friend. Kavanaugh was confirmed to what is now one of the most partisan, right-wing Supreme Court rosters in American history. In less than one year, legal protections for abortion, DACA, and the environment have been dealt serious existential blows.
There are 4,500 serious, credible tips about Brett Kavanaugh's ability to do his job sitting in a drawer at FBI headquarters. This gross negligence would never happen under President Joe Biden's watch.
