The GOP is counting on gerrymandering and voter suppression to stack the deck in their favor. And we know we can’t depend on the Supreme Court to combat their efforts, which is why we’ve employed a multi-pronged approach to fight back across the country.

Will you chip in now to support the NDRC’s fight for fair elections?

John, the Supreme Court has made it clear time and time again that they cannot be relied on to preserve democracy and protect free and fair elections.

FIRST, the Supreme Court voted to gut key provisions of the Voting Rights Act, opening the door for states with a history of discriminatory practices to pass new voter suppression laws.

THEN, SCOTUS declined to allow federal courts to review maps for partisan gerrymandering, effectively giving a green light to Republicans to make maps as unfair as possible.

NOW, the Court’s six conservatives have delivered yet another blow to what’s left of the Voting Rights Act, making it easier for states to enact restrictions that disproportionately impact communities of color.

So here’s the hard truth, John: Republicans are willing to do whatever it takes to win, even if it means effectively ending free and fair elections, and our nation’s highest court is not going to stop them. We’re the only ones who can save our democracy -- there is no backup plan.

The NDRC is fighting back against GOP plans to secure permanent political power, but we need your help to beat them. If you’re with us, will you donate today to support this critical work -- before it’s too late?

Thanks for doing your part to defend democracy.

-- Team NDRC
