In six short months, Barbara and Congressional Democrats have been hard at work undoing the wrongs of previous administrations and delivering for working families.
Congress passed the American Rescue Plan — a comprehensive relief bill to help our country recover from the pandemic stronger than ever — including the Child Tax Credit expansion. The Child Tax Credit alone is estimated to cut child poverty in half this year.
The House also repealed the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force — reining in the power of presidential administrations to go to war and culminating an effort Barbara has been championing for decades.
But the truth is, we’ve only accomplished a fraction of what we set out to. Our work is far from over — we must continue our fight to protect DACA recipients, combat the climate crisis in the face of devastating floods and wildfires, protect voting rights from right-wing attacks, and so much more.
Republicans in the minority have been obstructing our progressive agenda every step of the way, and their endgame is flipping enough seats in 2022 to win back the majority.
We have to stand up for our shared progressive values — for the victories for working families that have been won, and the progress we have yet to make. Chip in toward our end-of-month fundraising goal to keep Barbara in the fight and protect our majority in the House.
