Yesterday, the House Select Committee formed to investigate the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol held its first hearing.

Four Capitol Police officers shared their first-hand accounts of the harassment and violence they experienced on that day as well as the lingering emotional trauma sustained from defending our nation’s Capitol.

One officer expressed frustration with the lawmakers who have downplayed the seriousness of the violent mob, saying, ​​"The indifference shown to my colleagues is disgraceful!"

Remember: Republicans blocked the creation of an independent commission to investigate the insurrection. If it were up to them, we would never learn the truth about the terrorist attack on our Capitol.

There’s no way around it: countless Republicans have tacitly endorsed the violent insurrection. They are a threat to democracy and we cannot let them take back the House majority.
