It really is true -- every dollar you give to our campaign is meaningful.
When you contribute, you put our campaign in a stronger position to send Brian back to the Senate so he can continue the work he’s doing for Hawaii and our country.
We want to tell you about some of the work Brian has been doing recently so you can see what your contributions can add up to. It’s going to get a bit into the weeds, so if you don’t have the time to read on, that’s OK. CHILD TAX CREDIT: This month, eligible families received up to $300 per child thanks to the expanded Child Tax Credit passed in the American Rescue Plan. Those families will continue to receive monthly payments through the end of the year cutting childhood poverty in half.
EDUCATION: Brian introduced two bills that will give students the resources they need to succeed in college. One bill secures funding for community colleges to provide support to students -- from free tutoring to textbooks and transportation -- that’s proven to help students graduate on time. The other bill would give funding to colleges that examine the disparities in outcomes for students based on race, gender, income, or military status and create programs to close the barriers to success facing those students.
HOUSING: Brian introduced a bipartisan plan that would extend a housing program that provides Tribes and Native communities with access to safe, affordable housing, including here in Hawaii, and secure resources to create more affordable housing units.
When we ask you to contribute to our campaign, it’s not to hit arbitrary goals or fundraising numbers. It’s because it makes a real difference in building our campaign so we can elect leaders like Brian who are committed to affecting the change we need in Congress. [[link removed]]
