Friend – I don't like reaching out with bad news.

But as a member of this grassroots team, you deserve to know where things stand: I'm nearing my End Of Month fundraising deadline, but I'm still $60,000 short of my goal. 

Shortfalls like this leave me feeling uneasy: Political experts are saying the single biggest barrier to me defeating Marco Rubio is mustering the resources to do it. And Roll Call is reporting that Rubio and the GOP have an advantage in organization and voter registration – a head start I can only topple with the money to reach out to Floridians.

Remember: 10,033 votes. 0.12 percent.

Florida's last Senate race was the closest in the nation. So – to put it bluntly – every fundraising goal I miss makes me worry because I can't afford to lose any momentum. 

I'm looking at a very tough road – but I didn't sign up for this because I thought it would be easy. I have to hit this fundraising goal because it's what it takes to defeat Marco Rubio – and I have nowhere else to turn but you, friend. 

So please, I'm counting on you: Will you donate $X, or whatever you're able, to defeat Marco Rubio, win in Florida and defend our Senate majority?
