Earlier this year, we released our list of the 19 House Democrats who we believe are most likely to cosponsor HR 1976, the Medicare for All Act, next if they feel enough pressure from their constituents.
We also published a list of Congressional districts whose representatives are the top campaign recipients of corporate health care money and must be held accountable for their ties to Big Pharma and the private insurance industry.
While you don’t live in one of these two types of priority districts, we still need your help. That’s why we’re coming to you today with an exciting opportunity:
We’re looking for volunteers – that’s you – to host virtual text banks with other Medicare for All supporters in your area to contact voters in these key priority districts.
These virtual text banks are a key part of our strategy to turn up the pressure in our priority districts. As the host of a text bank, you’ll help your attendees talk 1-1 with constituents by text to let them know their representative’s record and how they can take action.
During the training call, we’ll go over everything you need to know to host a successful virtual text bank including the day-of agenda, how to use our texting platform, and of course leave plenty of time for questions. The call will last no more than an hour.
If you’ve never done this before, don’t worry. Everything will be done from the comfort of your own home, and the entire text bank party will take place over Zoom. Your job will be to answer questions, help folks get oriented, and flag any issues for our team.
Here are the training times:
