More than 50 Texas Democrats have fled the state in an effort to block Republican voter suppression.

We need to elect more Democrats with this kind of backbone who will stand up to defend our precious right to vote.

Texas Republicans were so desperate to ram through a bill that would add further restrictions on mail-in voting, ban drive-through and 24 hour polling sites, and grant more power to partisan poll watchers, they called a special session.

Democrats fought back, leaving the state to prevent the bill from passing.

Now, they've come to Washington, DC to demand Congress pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act.
