Behind the Scenes: Hollywood?s Sistine Chapel

On View Thu-Sun Through Aug 1

Bass Concert Hall Stage

Behind the Scenes: Hollywood's Sistine Chapel offers a 360-degree, immersive experience of full-scale, hand-painted motion picture replicas of the historic frescos of the Sistine Chapel featured in MGM's The Shoes of a Fisherman.

In 2018 the Art Directors Guild Archives and J.C. Backings Corporation generously donated 50 historic Hollywood motion picture backdrops to Texas Performing Arts who now works with these educational assets to train UT Austin students in scenic painting art to share this previously untold history with the broader community.
