John,
Tonight is the final conversation in Color Of Change’s Communities Keep Communities Safe series where we’ve learned from groups working to redefine public safety across the country.
Every week in July, Color Of Change has hosted our Communities Keep Communities Safe series in support of the People’s Response Act — a bill introduced by Rep. Cori Bush that adopts an approach to public safety that will save lives, and build systems of care that are rooted in improving the well-being of all communities.
Last week, we heard from women who have been the vanguard of creating alternative models of community safety. Join us tonight at 7 pm EST to hear from leading immigration advocates about how the People’s Response Act would support their work to create community-based models of public safety.
Any approach that centers punishment as a tool of public safety jeopardizes the health of whole communities and puts the people in those communities at extreme risk. RSVP now to learn more about how organizers have built holistic alternatives to public safety and how the People’s Response Act will grow these efforts.
