Tell Congress:
“The care economy is the foundation of our economy, supporting millions of seniors and people with disabilities. At the same time, care workers―who are predominantly women and people of color―are underpaid, often living below the poverty line. Congress must include and pass the Better Care Better Jobs Act through budget reconciliation and fulfill President Biden’s commitment to investing in our care economy.”

John,
President Biden has called for a massive investment in our care economy―to not only help seniors and people with disabilities stay in their homes and stay active in their communities, but to ensure care workers are paid a fair wage with benefits.
Republicans oppose making major investments in the care economy to protect working families, and many moderate Democrats worry about how much it will cost and how it will be paid for. But, President Biden’s Build Back Better Plan shows how we can ease the burden of the high costs of long-term care for those in need and that it can be paid for by ensuring the rich and corporations pay their fair share of taxes.
Senator Bob Casey and Representative Debbie Dingell have introduced the Better Care Better Jobs Act to strengthen and expand access to Medicaid home- and community-based care, and provide better pay for the direct care workforce―who are disproportionately women and people of color.
Sign the petition demanding Congress include the Better Care Better Jobs Act in the forthcoming budget reconciliation package. Since we only need 50 votes in the Senate to pass budget reconciliation, this is a fight we can win!
This bill helps fulfill President Biden’s commitment to investing in our care economy, which provides dignity to seniors and people with disabilities, keeps people active in their communities, and ensures economic stability for some of our lowest-paid workers.
Join Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund and our allies and demand Congress expand Medicaid home- and community-based care services by including the Better Care Better Jobs Act in budget reconciliation.
President Biden's Build Back Better plan proposes to spend $3.5 trillion on services to create jobs and help ease the burden of the high costs of healthcare, eldercare, childcare, housing, college and more—paid for by making the rich and corporations pay their fair share.
Together, when we reward work, not wealth, we can afford investments in working families and our future.
Thank you,
