I’m reaching out because our campaign has hit a major slump. Take a look at the steady decline we’ve seen in online contributions over the past three months:

05/01 - 05/15: 435 contributions
06/01 - 06/15: 361 contributions (17% decrease)
07/01 - 07/15: 259 contributions (28% decrease)

Sean’s a top target for national Republicans in 2022, and it’s my job to make sure our people-powered campaign has the resources to defend his battleground seat. So I have to ask -- will you chip in before our end-of-month fundraising deadline to help us get back on track?

I get it, a lot of folks have been busy planning their first vacations now that life has finally started to return to normal. And with November 2022 seemingly so far away, I can understand why you might want to tune all the political noise out and focus on summer fun.

But Sean was the first Democrat to win this district in nearly half a century -- and national Republicans aren’t going to slow down in their quest to take back the House.

With Illinois set to lose a House seat in the redistricting process, they’re hoping that a new district map with a new set of voters will give them a better chance to take Sean down. They’re mobilizing NOW to recruit potential GOP challengers in our district and rally their billionaire right-wing donors.
