Blueprint for Impact
Throughout the last 75 years, Seattle Foundation has evolved and embraced change to better serve our region and the myriad of people living in it. What has become very clear is that community-led change is often the most impactful. Partnering with community leaders closest to the pressing issues that we are collectively trying to solve is what will lead to a more just democracy, equitable economy, and resilient environment.
This revelation initiated the intentional reimagination of our vision at Seattle Foundation. Blueprint for Impact is the result—our North Star directing us toward engaging in more community-driven philanthropy to build a more thriving region for all. REPAIR: Racially Equitable Philanthropy Aimed at Initiating Reparations
REPAIR is a framework designed to support the growth, sustainability, and impact of Black-led organizations in King County. A minimum of $25 million will be invested in Black-led organizations across our grantmaking programs, donor-advised funds, and business operations, from now through 2025. This investment is in response to the historic and ongoing under-funding of the Black community in our region. Seattle Foundation will learn from this new endeavor and will use community feedback to build out strategies for sustained support for Black-led organizations over time.
We will work together with our community partners and philanthropists to ensure Black-led organizations are equipped with more resources to drive positive change is the goal.

An Update for Our Community
For over seven decades, Seattle Foundation has been evolving, striving to be better, do better, and be part of the solution to break down silos in the community and support a region where all our neighbors can thrive. The last year was most certainly a historically challenging time of crisis. Although we are proud of our work throughout the pandemic to lead with principles centered on racial equity, we also acknowledge that additional steps are needed to better support historically and currently marginalized communities.

Neighbor to Neighbor 30th Anniversary
On a beautiful summer afternoon, the community came together for a safe, socially distanced picnic to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N). Great food was provided by Native Soul Cuisine, grantees got to meet each other in person, and local artists took the stage to perform and entertain guests. 2021 East King County Community Fund Grants
More than half a million dollars has been deployed to East King County nonprofits that are supporting workers and families affected by the ongoing impacts of the pandemic. A total of 26 grantees were funded through the East King County Community Fund. Learn more about these organizations and their impact.

Voter Education Fund
Through the Voter Education Fund, a total of $990,000 in grants will support voter engagement in underrepresented communities. Along with funding, this list of grantees will receive training and support to bolster the strength of their organizations over the next two years. Seattle Foundation has partnered with King County Elections and reached nearly one million voters since the Fund started five years ago.

Join us for a virtual event as we celebrate 30 years of advancing racial equity by investing in the power of community. In celebration of Seattle Foundation’s longest-running program, we will be joined by a collection of close friends, members of the Neighbor to Neighbor advisory committee, grantees, and partners, including a special message from Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, who was a part of Hate Free Zone (now OneAmerica) and the first grantee from the N2N grant program.
