Early voting in Virginia starts on September 17th - right around the corner! Can you donate $20.21 or more today to help us reach our July target of $2,500 to support Briana Sewell (VA-HD51) and Joshua Cole (VA-HD28) in reaching out to their constituents to share information about early voting and enabling informed and accessible voting in the Commonwealth?

In the past few years, states across the country have created barriers to voting. These are intentional practices to impede or even halt otherwise eligible voters’ right to enfranchisement. This includes practices like voter ID and proof-of-citizenship restrictions on eligible voters, reducing polling place hours in communities of color, cutting early voting opportunities and purging voters from the rolls.
Since elections are paid for at the local level, supporting candidates that promote voter rights - like Democratic candidates in Virginia - doesn't just support a single campaign, but that support has ripple effects and helps ensure that the average person gets accurate information about where and when they can vote.
We're excited to get back to canvassing in VA later this summer/early fall - in addition to Phonebanking, it's one of our favorite GOTV methods!
If you can't donate today - don't worry! We know it's been a hard year and the uncertainty is far from over. You can still support these efforts by participating in our weekly phonebanking or meeting with our Chapter and with Briana Sewell herself this Thursday, July 29th at our General Meeting!
With appreciation and in solidarity,
Sister District DC/VA/MD
